Rivian was preparing to unveil its next generation of electric vehicles—R2, R3, and R3X—in its first keynote-style launch event. Working closely with the CEO and cross-functional teams, I creative-directed the keynote event experience from beginning to end.
Storyboards I imagined and created became the primary tool for shaping the production. Rather than polished presentation boards, they were designed to be simple, flexible, and easy to revise. Over the course of the project, they evolved through more than twenty versions as the story, timing, and production details continued to develop.
By mapping every beat of the event—from major reveals to transitions measured in minutes and sometimes seconds—the boards gave design, production, video, and executive teams a shared blueprint. They became a way to visualize the experience, align hundreds of moving parts and stakeholders, and make decisions long before anyone stepped on stage.
When the event finally went live, it unfolded almost exactly as it had been imagined in those storyboards.
